Carrie, congratulations for a good article ! Herbs are used a lot in our country, both for medicinal use and cooking.

Wonderful artical. One of my favorite incenses is dried and burned sagebrush. And it has the added bouns of being antimicrobial!

Correct as usual, your duchiness. (Couldn't resist a little Misterogers in there.) Everyone seems to have their own favorite herb. Sage, for one, has SO MANY different incarnations, from the purely ornamental salvias to the seasoning my mother (and grandmother) counted on for poultry and pork to what you're talking about and I've even heard it is smoked as part of certain rituals! I didn't have time to get into each individual herb separately, as you can tell. Thank you so much for commenting!

Absolutely. This was just meant because I was curious about where herbs started and spices ended. At first it seemed perfectly clear, but once I thought about dillweed which i would definitely call an HERB and dill seeds which are in pickling spices - I got all mixed up. Although spices originally, etymologically, came from the spice road or route through Asia/Africa to Europe! (inhale) But maybe that's another article!
