My internet is down at home still but should be up tomorrow and I will attach pics then.
I have been clearing out a very overgrown part of the garden. Underneath all the rubbish, was two hapuu with loads of orchids. I yanked some and put them on other hapuu and tree stumps. I know almost nothing about orchids. Some are over three feet long. Do I cut them back or not? I have no idea what types of orchids they are.

Don't cut your Orchids back! Don't trim anything off the plants unless it looks dead.

Some species can be divided at the roots. You can place the divisions in trees around where you live.

If the stems are over three feet long they might be Dendrobiums. When you show pictures of the plants they can be ID'd, and more advice can be given.

Sounds like you found a treasure chest of Orchids!

Hi Mlassi, looks like your Orchid is Epidendrum radicans.

You can cut the stem behind where it has rooted, and it will grow.

Here is another orchid I uncovered. Plus, the day after I transplant a bunch of the orchids, hubby decides to clear the tree stumps I put some in. Luckily I got them out ahead of him.

That one looks like an Oncidium. They like to be in trees.
