Hello all. I am new here but hoping to get some experienced information. We have a slope on our farm that we would like to cover with an evergreen groundcover. However it cannot be invasive. This slope is next to a horse race track and we don't want anything to start invading that area. Does anyone have any ideas? We thought about creeping phlox or creeping red sedum which would add some color and something that would fill out but not take over. Many thanks in advance.
Liriope, periwinkle, jasmine, wintercreeper. If you have a barrier between your yard and neighboring areas and do periodic trimming, these should be fine. As far as I know they spread by roots, not seed. Pretty much anything has the potential to become invasive if you don't maintain it. You should check with your local cooperative extension about invasive plants in your area.
There is no barrier between the two areas. Unfortunately there is not the option of putting one in. That why I was thinking that we need a plant that doesn't spread by a root system.
