does the glass from broken wine bottles overwinter well?

does anyone have experience with this? am planning to cover a cement sculpture with them. I live in an area that can have harsh winters.

greyma, I did a birdbath with broken wine bottles and my son took it to Great Falls, MT and he had it there for two years, he brought it with him from there to NM last year and it survived his winter there in Montana. I put two coats of sealer and I think I posted it on the Trash to Treasure forum, I'll see if I find a photo. I suppose it depends on what you use to glue the glass with, I used clear silicone rubber as adhesive.

I like the idea of using clear silicone rubber, someone told me you can paint the underneath, that should show thru the glass. interesting...
I'm planning to cover a cement snake I made a few yrs ago.

I found a photo of mine, but, go to the T2T forum and check datzu's posts, Faye has made a couple of bbaths, one with mirror, it came out gorgeous, and a green one with broken wine bottles, and a blue one, just gorgeous.. ..

This one, I used black grout and waited too long to take the grout off, don't wait long, otherwise it won't come off, I didn't get to the back of the bowl till the next day and it did not come off at all, so, the back is nothing but black grout. You can't see the humming birds I put on the bowl, but they are there..lol
