My mom has been wanting a clematis. She planted one a couple of years ago but it didn't make it. I think she just didn't amend the soil well enough, and there was too much liriope competing for space. I've been thinking about getting her one for Mother's Day and planting it for her myself. Mother's Day is 5/10. As long as it's kept well-watered, do you think mid-May is too late to plant one?
