Thank you Carrie, nicely written. Yes indeed, many herbs and spices are medicinal; the distillation process extracts the essential oils of the plant/tree. Two Questions: (1) What herbs can be grown without the worry of deer, rabbits, squirrels or even birds feeding off them?
(2) If the herb leaf is 'furry' will that impede the critters from chomping?

Thank you for your comment, callawyii. I really am not an expert on herbs, and would suggest that you consult one of you the above-referenced Dave's Garden articles, all written by far more herbally knowledgeable people than I am.
