I've got real nice pepper and tomato seedlings this year, but I don't put those out in the garden until after May 1. I just don't - that's the rule. lol
So now we've got four days of our usual springtime fun predicted - thunderstorms with torrential rain, wind, hail, tornado warnings, the usual.
I've got the seedlings in trays on our deck with a wind and partial-sun shelter around them. There are three slats running over them to provide sun protection. This morning I nailed a couple of old T-shirts over the slats to protect from hail and very heavy rain. I figure the water won't hurt them (there's 6" predicted) as long as it just drips through the T-shirts and doesn't hit them hard.
I'm looking forward to putting them out in the garden, but it'll have to be after things dry out a bit. Maybe early next week. If I see the seedlings are getting hurt in a storm, I'll run out there and bring them in the kitchen. Even though I'm kind of worried about them, I think I'm glad they're not out in the ground yet.
