My property has alas run out of sun.
So I have been really happy with how beautiful peonies can be in fairly shady situations.
My japonese peony (p. japonica) gets just a few hours of early morning light, then high shade the rest of the day.
It's near the edge of a wooded area.
It's doing great. It's about 6 years old now. Looks better every year.
These pix are from this past weekend.
