The history of herb cultivation and use is just fascinating! Thank you for giving such a nice overview--I'm definitely going to have to read more about 'em.
May I offer one tiny little correction? The world's first civilization proper was called Sumer; it's only Sumeria if you're speaking Spanish or Portuguese. (Oh, I do love me some history!)
Please forgive me; as you can tell, I had only the vaguest idea of what I was talking about! My sources were a little vague on that point and my own history background -- well, my only excuse is, "I wasn't there that day."
