WE were supposed to seal this every year since we moved in six years ago, but didn't , so it wore badly in spots, so finally we came up with watered down paint, a five gallon bucket looks like it is more than enough for our 2,000 sq feet of patio that surrounds our home.
We used a dark brown paint, not watered down to faux rag on and spray with water and blend if we needed too. This was two full days of work, but well worth it in the end. From no on we will seal it yearly!
This is how the patio looked in some places without sealing it all these years.

this is the next step in process, two parts water to one part paint and roll it on, it helps if you have a thicker roller for rough surfaces.

This is a picture of contrast between what we base coated and then the faux finish.

Almost done, just have to roll on the sealer which we did tonight. I will send pics when everything is back on patio and looks great.

That is so nice. Looks like a professional done it! And it is just regular outdoor paint? What kind of sealer?
