Are Charles Austin roses more disease resistant than the older heritage roses they resemble? I'm dreaming of planting some rose standards (tree roses) but I don't know whether it woud be better to go for something like "Abraham Darby" or some truly "old garden" rose.
I do not believe that they are more disease resistant, they are marketed more for the "look" that they provide. They have "some" disease resistance, but are mostly bred for appearance and shape.
