Post #6496121

A thread to post all links to printable lesson plans or interactive online lessons (most are free and that was my goal for this thread). I'll add all to this first post for easy reference. I've listed them by one main subject but as homeschoolers know, other subjects are often intertwined. As of 10-12-09 I have verified all links are still active.

Art Class

For free inspiration and detailed how-to instructions check out these kid-oriented sites;
http://www.artprojectsforkids.org (where you'll find classroom tested activities from an elementary school art teacher),
http://www.kidscraftweekly.com (for weekly craft roundups that you can have delivered to your email in a newsletter format). http://www.belladia.typepad.com/crafty_crow (for a slew of sweet seasonal crafts categorized by children's ages).
http://www.homeschoolarts.com has calligraphy, pencil drawing and drawing with colored pencil sample art lessons to print.
http://www.artfulparent.wordpress.com (which boasts and eclectic mix of art, baking, and science fun for kids).

Coloring Pages, Games, Puzzles, Worksheet Fun

It's as fun as the name suggests! Preschool - 6th grade fun arcade games, coloring pages, puzzles and fun things to read and do.

This one is for teens for a site that is informational and interactive, more fun than it sounds with live-chat, a forum, a test your knowledge quiz, recipes, case files of teens with health issues and more! Site can even be translated into 3 other languages besides English to test your foreign language skills!

Combine fun with learning as your child explores the world of ancient Egypt in a game of facts that plays like a choose-your-own-adventure.

Math/Money 101

Scared of teaching math? Kids apprehensive about doing it? Try this fun site---very user friendly with helps to combat math anxiety, study helps and section on how to identify your learning style. It's got a "fun stuff" section and semester schedule for coveringbasic math and algebra for the older student with math anxiety

If you've ever read Robert Kiyosaki's financial books you'll hear him tell you what you likely already know, the school system doesn't prepare you for the real world, they teach you nothing about money. He has free online games and tools for teaching all grades K-12 about money.

Explanations, games, and math practice for grades K - 8 I love the site's easy menu that includes all subjects math: algebra, geometry, graphs, fractions, money, etc... also has a small section for Spelling, vocab and geography:

Wouldn't be a good list without a Nasa link for kids! Here kids can explore all things about the earth, outer space and rocketry while playing games with the likes of Buzz Lightyear and do activies.

Misc Links with Homeschool Support threads and additional Lesson Ideas:

Here's whole list of great homeschool links from a homeschool forum I frequent. I started to cut and paste them, but decided to let you all just go look for yourself.
