I read somewhere (that at the time I thought was a reliable source) that icelandic poppies prefer slightly alkaline soil. Since I have seen them looking best out west (which I believe more often has alkaline soil than the east) this makes some sense to me. however when I tried to Google poppy cultural conditions I got all sorts of mixed contradictory info.
I tried several searches here and didn't find much that clarified subject. Can someone advise me?
And what kind of soil do oriental poppies prefer?
