Unfortunately, most of these lovely climbers are not suitable in my zone

    Hi Maria,

Nature Hills Nursery allows you to search by zone and I found this list of vines on their site. I didn't have time to sort the fragrant ones out though.

Thank you jJackie, I do have Clematis but I had to chuckle about bittersweet, it grows wilde here in the woods, have to chop it back so it will not take over my shade garden.

Your welcome, Maria. Bittersweet was like that at my old place in Tennessee...just took over! Carolina Jessamine takes over down here.

Thanks for your comments to Maria for the site to go to to find climbing vine in zone 5.. I have two clematis (clematii? sp) in one area & would like to find a differt kind to put along my front porch. Would a vine cling to an outdoor 100 gallon gas tank I'd like to hide? Perhaps I should just put up a border fence in front of it & let the vines crawl up that!
