I am confused about the water requirments for peppers. It's my understanding that bells like water, or at least they do not hate it. I planted cayannes near my tomatoes and now I am wondering if they are going to be too wet. They seem OK so far though.
But what about poblanos? The ones I planted in the garden seem to be growing slower than the ones in my raised bed. A few are in a row with onions, and the rest are in the raised bed with only marigolds bordering the bed. I can keep this bed in whatever the poblanos prefer, and I am harvesting onions right now so I can just pull the ones closest to the peppers first. Actually that's why they are there, I had space in my onion row and put a few poblanos there in case they did not like the raised bed.
The soil is pretty good in both spots. Should I dedicate one of my raised beds to chilis that like dryness? I am kind of new to gardening and read that peppers liked to be near tomatoes. Now I am under the impression that some peppers have much differant requirements than others and wonder if I have done the right thing.
I'll take some pics tommorrow and post them if needed.
