I have a 17' long X 7' wide X 1-1 1/2' deep pond that I want to get rid of and plant grass. I realize it must be cleaned out and I am planning on taking down the sides. Will I be able to grow grass over the cement floor with it filled in with good soil?
Grass will grow but where is the water going to go when it rains or when you water? I think that unless you drill holes in th bottom or break it up so the water will drain, you will very shortly have a bog garden at best, or nasty smelly bowl of sour soil that is breeding mosquitos.
