Author Content kwhoffma2002 Rocky Point, NY May 05, 2009 11:58 AM Post #6507321 I have a 17' long X 7' wide X 1-1 1/2' deep pond that I want to get rid of and plant grass. I realize it must be cleaned out and I am planning on taking down the sides. Will I be able to grow grass over the cement floor with it filled in with good soil? Some grasses will even grow in less than 4 inches. I think that unless you drill holes in th bottom or break it up so the water will drain, you will very shortly have a bog garden at best, or nasty smelly bowl of sour soil that is breeding mosquitos.
