I have a 17' long X 7' wide X 1-1 1/2' deep pond that I want to get rid of and plant grass. I realize it must be cleaned out and I am planning on taking down the sides. Will I be able to grow grass over the cement floor with it filled in with good soil?

Don't see why not , It's growing stuff over it now and grass is tough. Or you could fill it in for a raised garden spot . digger

As long as you have 4-6 inches of soil, grass will grow. Some grasses will even grow in less than 4 inches. Good Luck

Grass will grow but where is the water going to go when it rains or when you water? I think that unless you drill holes in th bottom or break it up so the water will drain, you will very shortly have a bog garden at best, or nasty smelly bowl of sour soil that is breeding mosquitos.
