A friend of mine planted a 4ft Shin deshojo a year ago. By the end of the year it had shot out a bundle of thin curly branches that grew forward in an uneven way. It looked a bit like a bad hair cut. The tree probably gets a little more light than it should but is healthy. I read on another site that these whippy branches can be a natural part of the growth pattern of a young JM and that they will stabilize. True? Comments?
I've requested a photo.
thanks
