Around Easter we bought two large packages of petunias and they looked wonderful and bloomed everyday and then about a week or so ago they have stopped blooming but the plant itself looks healthy. We put miracle grow on them and have been waiting but still no blooms. Do squirrels eat blooms because we also noticed that some of the blooms looked half eaten before they stopped blooming ? Thanks for any help you can give me.
I'm not sure how to advise you, because your climate is so different from mine. Maybe your petunias have petered out in the heat? I'm not sure, because they're generally a pretty tough, heat resistant plant... but FL heat can be pretty amazing. :-) If the blooms looked possibly bug munched, then you might check to see if something is nibbling on buds before they can open (you didn't say if there were no buds also).
You might consider checking with the garden center where you bought them; they might have some ideas for you.
