I can't seem to find a recommended source for plain old purple, or white violet seeds. I mean the small violets that just seem to spring up in the wild

If you can wait until later in the summer, I could save you some - I've got loads of both.

Kathleen,
Thank you for your generous offer. Of course I can wait. Just get back to me when you have some, and I will email you my address. How can I reimburse you for the seeds and mailing?

Why not trade for the plants and get a jump start?

Does anyone know if you can dig these in the wild and transplant? They are in full bloom here now, and I would love some. Will they live if I dig them and plant with my domesticated ones?

Yes, just make sure you give them a good watering. They do plant themselves around, so put them where you won't mind a large bunch.
