See my trade lists for wants and haves.

I do not do well with seeds, I kill them dead.
Here is my "persona"
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=6353140

Basically, I like edgy, dislike cute, love reptiles and amphibians and birds, and like trying things that my neighbors would never even know about, let alone have them in their pedestrian suburban landscaping plans (hardly could be called a garden for the most part).

Clay soil so I garden a lot in pots, hot and humid with gloriously long springs and falls and short(!!) winter! Grew up in the Pacific Northwest so I have webbed feet from all the rain. That pesky moss problem seems to have gone away though in the 25 years living here in the South.

I love perennials especially anything in the lily or daylily family, anything that looks like a sunflower, and the hardy weedy plants that others call invasive.
I also have started water gardening with pitcher plants and bog plants in containers.

5'2", just lost about 80 lbs to get down to 180 and still falling (shooting for a great fighting weight of 140 - or grow 3 inches), brown eyes and just turned 55 - old enough to want to but also old enough to know better, and everything else is subject to change without notice.

Have:

Too many daylilies to name... You send me a list of your wants and I will do my best to oblige.. Most are older daylilies that need to be divided..

The Gamecock LA Iris
Waverly Pink LA Iris

Want: Mostly Hostas and other perennials. Not interested in Irises.

With the drought I was undergoing for the last 2 years I lost most of my perennials so my want list is big. I have ample daylilies to go around though. I am a member of the AHS and will not send you anything that you will not want or like.

I'll be adding to my list of "haves" as soon as they surface. A LOT of stuff got planted last year, so we'll see what comes up & can be split.

A note on my hostas. I have had one hosta with HVX, but some people from another site decided to start trouble for unrelated reasons, so they spread that all my hostas are infected. I have hundreds of hostas, and over 100 different cultuvars, none of which show signs. The one that had HVX had been purchased nearly 8 years ago, and had not been moved since it's planting. It was carefully removed, along with a 2-feet deep/wide hole of dirt & planted with non-hosta plants. I cannot guarantee that my other plants are not infected, but I am careful to not cross-contaminate anything in my garden. I expect that you will treat swaps like I treat them and assume that they might have "cooties" until proven otherwise.

On that note, IF you want to swap hostas, I am willing, but will let you know that they are visibly healthy to me when I send them (can send a photo of the "parent" plant before if needed), but have not been tested, since I can't afford to test hundreds of plants. If you find HVX in any of my hostas (or other issues with other plants), please let me know so that I can make it right, and so that I can get the infected plant out of my garden.

Finally... PLEASE! No drama! I am here to have fun, meet people and learn about plants (as well as acquire more & trade extras that I have). If you have an issue with me, please address it to me. I am very understanding and will go out of my way to right any wrongs that I might have committed.

Thanks!

TOP wants:

1. Tiger-Eye Sumac shrub
2. Guardian Angel Hosta
3. Candy Dish Hosta
4. Tri-colored European Beech Tree
5. Eastern Redbud Tree
6. Jack-in-the-pulpit
7. Elvis Lives Hosta
8. Queen of the Seas Hosta
9. Dutchman's Pipe
10. Spilt Milk Hosta
11. Delphinium
12. Endless Summer Hydrangea
13. Starburst Asiatic Lily
14. Common Pitcher Plant/Sarracenia purpurea
15. Azalea - any of the Northern Lights series
16. Helen Von Stein Lamb's Ear
17. Japanese Tree Lilac
18. Yellow Peony (any cultivar that is yellow or partially yellow)

Okay, likes:

Perennials
Re-seeding Annuals
Hardy in zone 3/4
Shade or part shade for the most part
Shrubs for above conditions
seeds okay, but prefer rooted plants when possible
Purple
Sun and part-shade flowering plants for my new "prairie" area
Wildflowers (for above)
"Weird" plants for my "weird" theme I'm putting in for my nieces & nephews
"Mini" plants for my Gnome Garden (see photos)
Anything deer-resistant (making a "hedge" of deer-"icky" plants around the outside of my hostas).
I'm CRAZY about hostas
Heuchera (new addiction)
Daylilies (new addiction)
Iris (new addiction)
Echinacea
Columbine
Peonies
Lilies
Hardy Geranium
Spring Bulbs
Sedum
Sempervivum (hens & chicks)
Hardy lilypads/pond plants
Herbs
Birdhouses & butterfly houses
Home-made items!
Anything having to do with music
Whimsical and "weird" items to go in the garden (not junky, just fun things I can tuck in places)
Art (specifically garden-art)
Edible ornamentals (both shade & sun)

I'm pretty simple, and will appreciate anything you want to send (see below for exceptions).

Dislikes:
Lifting bulbs, unless it's REALLY cool! Even then, no guarantees...
Marigolds (except for the old-fashioned single pink ones... those are really cool)
Pink Flamingos
Junk without purpose
Disney characters in the garden
Cheap wind chimes & birdhouses that break right away, or fade, or get tangled...

Gonna keep it short and sweet for now .

*Not so much* - groundcovers, annuals. Have no room for tropicals or houseplants.

Other than that, anything goes!

What I have are lots of angel trumpets, but one can never have enough of them. I also love any color hibiscus!
Wants, I need any seeds that will grow into a vine. I am going to try and cover my front yard fence this summer with vines of all colors. So it can be moon flowers, morning glories, japanese morning glories, even some gourds would be nice? Make sure it is for full sun.

With the lowest temperatures in close to 20 years, my just started cottage garden may not have anything, so my Have list right now is non existent. I love attracting butterflies and hummingbirds so anything that does that is great. I also love heirlooms, natives, and anything that is non-needy. I have very limited shade and our summers are killer with heat.

Dislikes

Cutesy things
"Country" style things
Modern
Gnomes and fairies
Cannas

Likes

Repurposed things
Things from the heart
Sheep stuff (not cutesy, but cute is ok)
Whimsical metal art

Homemade things
Quilts
Pretty bottles for my bottle tree
Wind chimes that sound great
Good food
Recipes
Heirlooms Seeds and plants
Natives
Antique Roses
Anything that blooms more than one week a year

Anything that attracts hummers, butterflies
Unusual Christmas ornaments
Antiques/reproductions that are cool

SUSANDONB1141

Since we are moving to Massachusetts and my zone wil be lower as of August 2010, I will make my list for my NEW location.

PLANTS:
ANY TYPE OF BULBS GOOD FOR ZONE 6
VEGETABLE SEEDS
BIRDHOUSES
BIRDFEEDERS
GIFT CERTIFICATES TO LOWES OR HOME DEPOT OR ANY WEB GARDEN STORE, SUCH AS BURPEES, BRECKS, ETC.
GLOVES
GARDEN CRITTERS

I really can't think of anything else, I am pretty resourceful when it comes to garden needs. I wouldn't want to put my real wishes on the wish list since they would be too costly and I don't think you can ship a garden pond.

Thanks,

I love most all plants, expecially tropical and unusual.

My wants: (that I can think of now)
pink princess Philodendron
Hoya - shooting star
Hoya - any not in my journal
love orchids
any begonias not in my journal
button ginger - had this but the cold killed it

I will have to start making a list as I see things I want.

Things I have taken cuttings of as of 2/20/10:
peach poodle hibiscus
duranta
tibouchina gradiflora - princess flower
yellow butterfly bush
lacecap hydrangea

Always need plant/seed labels. Love books/magazines about plants, cute outdoor signs, cute little animals/figurines to 'tuck' in your garden.

I will add more later, I am sure as I look through all the plant magazines coming out that I will find LOTS.

Thank you

I've tried that one stroke painting and can't get the hang of it. There is a lady here in town that teaches it. I'm going to see if I can afford the lessons.

Hi Linda sorry it took so long repsond I stil get lost in here LOL!
Thank you I have been doing OS since 1999. When I teach it I love the fact that it lets folks who never thought they could paint do so. I just shut down 1 of the the days I am teach so I can spend more time on me . Classes are really slow right now and I would rather spend the time making things for me or working in the garden instead of class samples LOL! My great granson Dakota keeps me busy enough as it is I keep him during the day and at 17 months he is a handful timewise but so very worth it!
Marti give it a go if you run into a problem give me a shout I will try and help :)

My yard is more partial sun to shade-shade. Have one bed that gets afternoon sun, and along the fence line is sun, but can't have anything that would hurt the horses if they eat it. I'm wanting shade perenniel plants, especially ones that continuous bloom and have good color. All heights. Cacti, that will live outside all year in my zone & part shade and house cacti.

I am in Zone 7a

Not too many of them. Pretty easy to please! Don't like cinnamon or spicy scents.
No more room for vines unless you are SURE if the horses eat them
it will not be dangerous to them. Then I would love to have them.

My have list is pretty up to date but I haven't yet added
Nierembergia White Robe and Purple Robe. The white bloomed
incredibly well for me last year so I purchased another packet.
I typically harvest seed but had some issues with my back during
the fall & didn't get out there to do it.

We have an acre of cleared land and its pretty much Full Sun all day.
The shady areas are chock full of well-established plants & shrubs.
However, my shady bulb area was right in front of the house & when
we had scaffolding up for house & gutter repair my bulbs got smashed.
At least thats what I think since my blooms went from 1000's to maybe 20.
So I would love bulbs - any kind, size or shape but please no yellow. Also
they must be hardy - I'm just don't have the time to "lift" in the fall.

Any seed in blue/purple/white except liatris & NE Aster. My neighbors are
running away when I come near them with seed or plants lol.

Garden critters, painted rocks would be delightful and find a loving home
awaiting them.

Anything you can think of to send would be appreciated.
