Winchester, IN

Just moved to the country and have a large yard of several unknown plants.
Hope you can help me identify them as I find time to take a picture of 'em.
This one I thought was a strawberry, but don't strawberries have 3 leaves?
Please don't tell me it's a poison ivy as my wife is highly alergic!

It's definitely not poison ivy. It looks an awful lot like one of the Fragaria, but those herbaceous-y things aren't my specialty.

I think strawberries can be kind of variable in the number of leaflets composing the leaf.

There are a number of plants in the frame; the one in the center with 5-part leaflets is a Potentilla spp.. There's another plant immediately to the right of that one which seems to have 3 leaves.

Magnolia, TX(Zone 8b)

Dewberries, Blackberries looked at?

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

as altagardener said, aka cinquefoil. It's a weed.

Greenfield, NH(Zone 5b)

I think this is a weed....it appears in my gardens in NH and if left alone...it has long runners that attached themselves to the dirt and grow new plants.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback.
(Sorry for the dely in this, but my 'puter went out and had to rebuild)

Pittsburgh, PA
