Adding more attic floor space with Oriented Strand Board
I have a house in North Carolina built in 2001. Have 2 AC/Furnace units in attic. There is a ridge vent in attic. No other vents. Attic floor is insulated completely with blown in pink stuff. There are soffit vents in attic around the edge. Attic is all vaulted.
There is some OSB under and around the HVAC system. Can I add more (not entire attic) or will it compromise the attic environment, cause moisture, etc...
Surprised no one answered - and I just saw this thread.
You should be able to "deck" most of the attic space.
There should be vents in the soffit which allows air in. The ridge vents allow it to escape.
Just be sure you don't block the soffit vents..
