fully agree with former reader, very nice and especially great photos. immediately interested. as i live in the dutch west indies, curacao, much like a desert island in the sea, this plant will be very happy here.
agacias, aloe, agave, wild cactus trees (more than 300 years old) grow here happily (as long as there are no project investors around).
but we also grow orchids here, no problem whatsoever, as long as you have large trees to protect them. the climate is also humid. you see, pretty interesting environment.

We just bought two tiny ones from Moortens Botantical Garden & Cactarium in Palm Springs. They're beautiful little souvenirs (and reasonably priced), but since they weren't marked, I'm not sure which variety they might be. Usually your articles give me information overload, but it was good to see all of the nice photos.
Great article and great photos, as usual. I would love to grow these, but even in a trough, I think summer in CT would be too wet. Guess I'll have to stick with sempervivums.
