Last year, a friend in the UK sent me a bulb of this plant, which I planted on my old dog's grave.

I've never been a great fan of these, probably because they are so different from anything I grew up with.
However, it looked lovely this year atop her grave.

It bloomed and then quickly began to "yellow"; so your article came just at the right time to assure me that nothing is wrong, that's just the way it is.

(Now, if only the "new dog" had not bulled his way thru the memorial garden and broken off all the lily stems atop the old dog's grave!)

Thanks for this informative and very helpful article.

Thanks for the compliment, Potagere. And congratulations on your blooming Crown Imperial. How about planting a dogwood on your dog's grave? :-)

(We plant pussy willows on our cats' graves. I know it's a bit corny, but fun!) Best--Larry☼

She has a dogwood, too, Larry, and it's in bloom right now.
