We tend to have lots of slugs here in Montana. I read in a book to use household amonia mixed 1 part amonia and 10 parts water, and I have been using it for years, and it WORKS GREAT! I go out in the evening with my flashlight or go out right after a rain, and the gross critters simply dissolve, when they are sprayed. I love it! I keep a mixture in a spray bottle and have even bought the larger spray type bottle (the one you pump, and it uses pressure to spray) that you use to mix up weed control mixtures and whatever from Ace and find it very helpful. I spray the slug not the plant, but it certainly doesn't hurt to spray the plant either. Anomia has nitrogen, so I have heard, and it is actually good for your plants. I used the salt before trying the amonia, and it did end up killing a few plants, so I really like the amonia instead.
