When I lived in the city, my greyhound killed a skunk in the back yard- after it sprayed BOTH my dogs. I didn't realize it had happened. They ran free in a fenced yard, and I'd just open the back door and let them in. Well, I did, and they both ran to their couch and rubbed themselves all over it. My apartment stunk for a week or so in spite of lots of airing out and other efforts.

Also, I read about a guy who swore nothing gets rid of the scent faster than douche! (Must be the vinegar in it???). He got a kick out of the looks he got at the grocery store when he was in line with nothing but 6 boxes of it.
