Pooch brought up something on another thread that raised a question in my mind. How tall can dahlias be and still be topped? I've got some that still can't go out permanently for approximately a week and I'd love to top them if that would only delay bloom a bit, as opposed to them being leggier than I'd like...18-24" too tall to top?
