We are going to paint a room w/ high pitched ceiling and an architecural shelf. The shelf I am referring to is part of the plaster walls, not something attached to walls. It goes back maybe 3-4 ft. I look @ this space and all I can imagine is spray painting this room(s). Emptying it out, taping all windows and trim and sealing off the kitchen area and hall way. Otherwise we are talking scaffolding galore. I don't mind painting but this room overwhelms me to consider.

I can paint ceilings up to fifteen feet with a pole - it's not easy but it's do-able. Maybe one lift on wheels and a pole? You'll need scaffolding if you use a sprayer, too, right?
Maybe it's worth paying somebody else to do it, or at least seeing what they might charge.

Of course I would need scaffolding w/ a sprayer!! What was I thinking, or not-thinking? DUH!

Yes, if anything, you need more ladders and scaffold to get close access to every little nook with a sprayer, you can't use poles or anything to get beyond the reach of the sprayer.
