The trees i have planted-sweet acaia-silver dollar eucaliptus-lemon tree(i started from seed) are doing well even through the 6 yrs. of severe drought. After watering the sweet acaias 2 days a week for 21/2 years i now can water less. i now water once every 5 to 7 days. The silver dollar eucaliptus is growing great i water it ever 5 days. The amazing lemon tree is 17 feet now it produces large amounts of fruit, handels the arizona sun at 119 degrees. All it has had is water and some organic fertilizer once a year. All of the trees except the lemon tree were planted in a whole dug in the desert ground with rocks no bigger than the root ball-being desert trees did adjust! The palo verdes and misquites trees can go without water for one whole year and survive. The desert plants amaze me.
