I'm looking for some sort of metal tubing to make an outdoor plant rack for my plants to spend the summer. The guy at Lowe's suggested electrical conduit. I'd like to paint the conduit to match the uprights... can the conduit be painted?

Thanks for any thoughts, suggestions.

electrical conduit is coated with oils, so wash it first so the paint will stick. also, any cut edges will rust, so make sure to hit them with the paint.

Thanks so much for that info. I didn't realize that the conduit would have to be prepared for painting. I'm planning to use the entire 10' length, so I don't think there will be any cut edges, but thanks again for the advice.
