I understand the need for the site to make money with advertising. BUT...that damned mosquito commercial comes on half screen covering what I want to read and cannot be turned off without logging off and then back on.

If this cannot be solved then I am outa here because I CAN NOT read the posts because the commercial covers them and never goes away.

Hi Jim, do you have ad's turned off?

GO to "My Info"

Then, "Manage My Preferences"

Then on Right side of page click on "Ads" to turn them off.

I have to agree, it's the main reason I don't check posts here as often as I was. It is probably the worst ad concept I've ever seen online. It jumps down if the mouse gets near it and you can't control that because of the way the page loads, it jumps things around. Once it is open, it is near impossible to get rid of. I don't log out, I hit back and try and keep the mouse below where I think it is going to be when the page loads. A royal PITA. I hadn't yet decided to pay here so I can't turn it off. I doubt I'd pay now, I think it shows a gross disdain for members or potential members. Even worse for the advertiser. It is getting into mosquito season here and I was in the store yesterday to buy some repellent. I saw a bunch of Off products, remember that irritating ad, and bought another brand.

Hey! It's gone! At least for me? I wonder if someone did send our thread in and it worked? I'm so happy it is gone.

hmmm, I spoke too soon. It seems to have reappeared on some threads. It makes me jumpy trying to avoid the mouse passing over it. It really is the worst EVAH!
