Typically you'd use the marketplace if you wanted to sell individual items (plants, etc), and the classifieds would be more appropriate if you have a website where you sell things and you want to do something like offer DG members a 10% discount off anything on the website, or you're having your end of season plant sale, etc and you want to get people to your website. The classifieds you pay $5.00 to run an ad for a couple weeks, vs the marketplace there's a listing fee (which I believe is waived for subscribers) and then Dave gets a small % of the purchase price for each thing you sell, so that can help make the decision of where is more appropriate to post something--if you have one or two plants to sell, it's not going to be cost effective to pay $5 for a classified so the marketplace makes a lot more sense, but if you have a whole website full of things it takes a lot less time and may be cheaper in the long run to buy the classified to send people to your website vs listing every plant individually in the marketplace.

Oh, ok thanks a bunch, that helps me out a lot.

I do not have a website, but I have plants that I sometimes divide and sell. I would sell a whole bunch at one time, so probably the classifieds would be best for me.
