I haven't planted garlic in a while but last fall I planted 20 pounds of bulbs. I have Music, German Red and Cheznok. I made a trench 6 inches deep and 8 inches wiide and filled it with 2 year old composted manure, mostly goat and sheep Then I planted the bulbs on either side of the trench. The problem is the plants are huge. The music is 4 feet tall and the stems are as big around as your thumb. The German Red is about 3 1/2 feet and the Chesnock at least 3 feet tall. Do you think I am going to get any bulbs or was there too much nitrogen left in the manure and all I am going to get is stems and leaves?
