We have a gym in our co-op that is situated one level below the street in NYC. A window opens to a space that provides air and some natural light and is covered by a grating. I would like to put in a plant that thrives in the shade and ideally would climb a trellis. Any suggestions?
I would suggest 2 climbers either Akebia Quinata or Schisandra Chinensis.
These plants are really good at thriving in north facing gardens so I cant see a problem you would have growing them one level below the street. What do you think of them? I prefer Akebia Quinata.
