My husband just put in new burmuda grass and we have weeds popping up left and right. We live in Az...any ideas for our heat to keep the grass but kill the weeds? We've been digging as they come up but they seem to be stronger than burmuda which is thicker than ever now...thanks!

I'm surprised anything is stronger than Bermuda grass, I spend half my gardening time trying to get rid of the bits of it that keep popping up in my garden! LOL Lawn weed killers ought to work on your weeds and not kill the grass--check the label to make sure there aren't any warnings about not using it on new grass, but there are a ton of products that are especially designed to kill weeds but not grass.

Tinkerhobby, Ecrane is absolutely right. Do you mean there's something more powerful than Bermuda??? LOL! If your weeds are "broadleaf" then check for any of the weed killer products which either simply kill off the broadleaf or one of the weed'n feeds for broadleaf control. If you're dealing with something special like controlling nutsedge, then you'll need to look for a specialty weed killer. It helps to know, IMO, what weed you're dealing with.

Just my 02cents worth, Linda
