what a find!! cannot believe the things people throw out!
i like the look of it already but of course you can be artsy and paint it all different bright colors--with not pattern or with a pattern
you can get a padded seat cushion for it
you can distress it by painting and then rubbing off some of the paint and adding a little bit of splatter etc -i did that to my kitchen walls--using blue and white

What a great find...it is exactly what I've been searching for!! I love all the ideas of planolinda's and agree that just as is would be great too. I wanted to use mine if I ever find one to build a flower bed around it and just sit in it and photograph and watch the birds. Lucky lucky you!!

ooh those are great ideas. i think i will definately have to put the padded seat cushion on it. maybe i could just leave the wood as is if i can find a good weather proof fabric that will go good with it. hmmmm. i was thinking of having my husband build 2 wooden square flower pots to put on the sides/ i don't know if i should make the top of the pot the height of the arm or seat. then what kind of flowers. i guess i could see what fabric i get then go from there. man, those ideas definately jump started a bunch of ideas in my head! thank you so much.

my husband almost didn't stop to get it. i was so upset!! men just don't understand sometimes!!!

Sigh.

I'm thrilled for your fantastic find! You can send it my way,
and I'll put it in the corner of the yard under the grapevine arch.

Awesome find! You can just paint it or put a clear coat on it to keep it the same color.

I think it looks great right where it is just as it is. That weathered grey is beautiful. I think I would put something to help preserve the wood but certainly a clear coat. I agree a cushion to sit on and that would do it.
Have fun.
