Here is another shot from July 21, 2007. It illustrates another point: Unlike some other Oriental lilies, most of the flowers face upwards rather than outward and down. I have found this cultivar can take a soggy soil for a period of time without ill effects. It is planted in a low-lying area which frequently gets saturated with water in spring.
