Initial Notes:

Half hardy annual. (Perennial grown as an annual). Deadhead to prolong flowering. Seeds can be sown indoors - do not cover they need light for germination. propogation - seeds. light - full sun to part shade. blooms - summer. width - .5 to .75 ft. height .5 to 4 ft. zones 1 to 11. Attracts butterflies.

Seeds sown by compressing into soil - not covered - and placed under grow lights.

Seeds planted by compressing into soil and placed under grow lights.

  Jan 20, 2001  
many seeds sprouted, covers removed.

  Jan 26, 2001  
several cells of seedlings died. One cell showing white mold. New seeds sown in 1/2 peat and 1/2 vermiculite mix - not covered and placed under lights.

  Mar 12, 2001  
seedlings transfered to larger pots.

  May 4, 2001  
planted in window boxes. Still a few left over plants
