Initial Notes:

Fant's nursery. Small clingstone peach which is extremely early and has a strong red color. It is listed as requiring 850 hours of chilling, but actually performs more like a 750 hour variety. Springold has firm, yellow flesh and is the best of the very early varieties. The tree must be pruned heavily every year and the fruit thinned early to increase fruit size.
