A pretty good, inexpensive book for vegetable gardening basics. Contains a cursory discussion on light and site, soil and water, seeds and seasons, and weeds, pests, and problems. The rest of the book contains a description of the major groups of vegetables including cooking herbs such as leafy greens, melons, beans, peas and other legumes, etc. Descriptions of the more popular cultivars are included along with a few recipes for each vegetable. A nice, though not comprehensive, book on growing vegetables. Color photos. 320 pages.Back to Copperbaron's Journal homepage.
