Well, what can I say. Everything that I've done to make my yard inviting to wildlife has also made it a paradise for these guys. They don't tell you this when you get certified. These guys are kinda cute (unlike the rats). A few times when I went out to take in the feeder, one used to "hide" on the shepard's hook where he thought I couldn't see him. He was tiny, tiny. His dumbo ears were almost as big as his head. He was a whitish or pale color.
I've never seen any sign of these guys in the house. (It's a new house and well sealed). No droppings, nothing "eaten".They live on the rose arbor where they run along the rose branches which provide great protection for them. I see what looks like a nest atop the arbor, perhaps theirs. As they never come to any of the traps I have placed around the patio, I suspect that the rats "own" that area.
