Cropping: 65 Days (Early Summer/Autumn)
Ideal For: Baskets, Children, Containers
Description
Excellent new stumpy carrot suitable for windowbox and container growing. The delicious, tender, bite-size carrots with a smooth skin are early to mature and uniform. Also suitable for clay soils where growing carrots can be a problem.
Harvest July to December. Prefers well drained, moist, rich, cool conditions.
Sowing Instructions
Sow March to June. Sow thinly, 1cm (½in) deep in drills 15cm (6in) apart.
Growing Instructions
Thin seedlings when large enough to handle to 5cm (2in) apart to reduce risk from carrot root fly. Can also be sown under cloches in January/February tor earlier cropping.
Kitchen Notes
The bite-size carrots are excellent as party snacks, and can also be sliced thinly and fried in vegetable oil to make 'carrot crisps'!
