Amaranthus Marvel Bronze

Half Hardy Annual
Flowers: Summer
Height: 4 feet
Position: Full Sun
Ideal For: Bedding

Add almost instant impact to your summer bedding schemes, with eye to catching color. This statuesque annual makes the perfect dot plant for borders, or why not be brave and plant it en masse for explosive results!
Height: 48 inches; Type/hardiness: Half Hardy Annual; Prefers full sun; Flowers: Summer

Sowing:
Sow February to April. Place seed on the surface of good free draining, seed compost. Do not cover the seed. Place at 68 to 77F until after germination which usually takes 3 to 15 days. During germination, allow the temperature to reduce at night. This will occur naturally if using a heated propagator is avoided. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. Can also be sown direct outdoors where they are to flower. Sow 1/16 inch deep, in rows 12 inches apart.

Growing:
Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into trays or 3 inch pots. Grow on in cooler conditions for 10 to 15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 12 inches apart.

Aftercare:
Will grow in any well to drained soil in full sun.

sown in soil night before last- popped up like dandilions- no troubles at all with these guys

ok, not sure what has survived and what hasn't out there- badly labeled to begin with, and my knowledge of leaves is pretty minimal
the sun got most of these anyway- the hardy ones lived (go nasturium, marigolds, geraniums and morning glories- well outside morning glories lived, inside ones all croaked)

not sure which Amaranthus this one is, but it's one of these two
the cosmos is the last living one- transplanting didn't go well with pretty much anything except nasturiums, geraniums and morning glories- those by and large lived- everything else except for these few have croaked
