Initial Notes:

Really short flowering period, but fat, gorgeous flowers. Interesting shaped leaves.
Only have one- and it needs to be transplanted, so that it's not in the shade of that bush. (bush unknown- I'm working on that)
bush now known ;)

ok, totally screwed up- dug this up today, and not in the fall, but I really want to clear out that bed for the roses and stargazers
http://www.paeonia.com/html/about_peonies/how_to_grow_peonies.htm
and am amazed at all the different tubers and other little growths- one is larger than a sweet potato- only I've got about 8 different clumps, and not just one big one- dunno if i broke it up when i was digging it out, or if they rotted, or if it was due to critter munching (of which there were many signs)
found a section about using Hydrogen peroxide for seed prop.- and killing off mold and such- wonder if it could save this peony or if i should just plant it as is and hope for the best.....it was a great plant- nicely mounded and several flowers last year, but not long lasting or really interesting looking, aside from great blooms- no scent either

and honestly if it's not hardy, I don't really have the patience for it- I don't even keep indoor plants that need robust coddling
I want to have a great garden that is done being schooched around with in the next 3 years- finish school- have the garden looking good- go work my ass off for $ and never sleep or see the garden again :) i've got a plan i have

decided to just go ahead and pot them all together, so they didn't end up hanging out on the stove (so far my favorite potting space) for Karen to find when she came home, cut the tubers down like the website said, cut anything not healthy looking away :) who knows...

put it back in the ground- 3 plants- in corner- all have flower buds, but are looking pretty unhappy regardless this year compared to last

  Jun 4, 2006
oh yeah, won't even get a flower this year- all the buds just died before they even opened
kind of good though, shouldn't have transplanted it in bloom- hopefully it will come back next year healthy

if this comes back next year, I will be surprised- can't believe I killed it that efficiently- it was a good looking plant before I dug it up

wow, now this is Easter!
Was scrounging around looking for Lily signs and found this....can you believe it!?

sigh, for all my camera skills, it looks like Nessy, but fairly sure it is the Peony

running late to work, but wanted to get one more shot up- I am taking too many pics lately- too many in general and even posting the blurry ones....I love my camera, man, I just love it, can't wait to get good with it
this guy is looking so much better than last year
