This was from a trade way up north in Minnesota (Zone 3), and it shows its spunk by coming through some of the worst cold weather these past several days. The only damage I see is a few burned spots and a tattered leaf. I have high hopes for this one!

This picture shows what I described in my initial comments. I believe that's a bloom stem developing in the foreground.

One year later this is the same clump as shown in the picture above. A remarkable plant.
