Howard's co-worker has a retired racing greyhound he adopted. Dan, huge and solid muscle, is a gentle giant. Ken can pick Dan up by his paws when Dan's lying down, and Dan just hangs there.
Once Emma got used to him, she dashed around their fenced-in yard and loved playing with him. Sarah even played a little.
Emma's had a good effect on Sarah; Sarah is much more social with dogs now and hasn't done the submissive urination since we brought Emma home. I think it's because she's not the omega dog anymore now that she has Emma submitting to her. Yes, Sarah has a peon, LOL.
Emma was 15 weeks old when these were taken.

Emma wasn't at ALL sure what to think of the enormous dog Dan when they first met. I guess he would be a little intimidating to a wee pup.

Sarah was like Ferdinand the Bull, content to just sit and watch everyone else play. I think she looks a little wistful here, though.

Okay, they finally did play a little while, the three of them. But Sarah was quick to get back up on the porch behind Howie and supervise from a distance.

I wish this hadn't come out so blurry. Dan looks like a crazy hodge-podge of animals, part kangaroo, part dog, part -- ???? Cracks us up every time we look at it!
