This is another new SDB here in 2007. It fared poorly during the bitter freezes of early April, yet continues to grow and develop. I have trimmed lots of damaged leaves from the plant, and am now being rewarded with a large bud!
The following information is quoted from the AIS Check List database: "(Richard Tasco, R. 1997)., Sdlg. 91-46-13-RE. SDB, 12" (31 cm), M & RE "S. and style arms reddish violet; F. reddish violet, darker halo around beard; beards pale violet, tangerine in throat; sweet fragrance. Extra Charm X Tender Tears. Superstition 1999".

This bud had enlarged this weekend, so I thought it appropriate to follow its progress. Hopefully there will be a bloom tomorrow.
