Initial Notes:

Even in the most respected publications there is precious little information about this iris. The two most prominent 'facts' are: 1. it was hybridized by a Frenchman named Lemon, and 2. was introduced in 1844. Beyond that little is known. Some day (?) when I get time I plan to sit down and research this iris. It is very quaint and quite charming!
