Initial Notes:

This finch is almost totally blind from an eye disease very prevalent in finches. He let me get within a foot of him as he ate from the finch feeder, just occasionally cocking his head so he could view me with his good eye. Catching him was easy; I released him after getting these pictures.

Here is his "good" eye. I'm amazed he's been able to fly and navigate this long. He has no problem finding the finch feeder and birdbath, but he's easy prey to the neighbor's cats. :(

He manages to get to the feeder just fine, for now at least.
