Today we finally were able to get back to work on the house after all the rains.

The picture shows our son Jaden in the foreground going after more lumber, with Brother-In-Law Ken and Hubby Dave in the background measuring and ciphering.

We are now building the outside walls, which will be put up fully constructed, with everything measured out for windows, doors and all.

I couldn't help with the house building today because I had to start cleaning the trailer from top to bottom for the trailer selling thing. We have people asking to buy our trailer and the first couple is coming Monday to look at it. Daughter Jerri helped me today so I could be both inside and outside. She's going to help tomorrow too until she has to go to work. Thank God we have such great kids and they are so cooperative and willing to help. They all have full time jobs too right along with Dave and I. Without them, we could not accomplish this monstrous task. This is truly a family affair.

One more shot of the construction of the outside walls before they are put up. We are building the outside walls flat on the floor, then when they are done, we will put them up.

We put the outside walls up today. The last few days were spent putting in the drain for the basement, the sewer pipe, and pouring the cement floor in the basement.

We are now back working on the walls after the rafters were put up. Today we started putting the OSB sheeting on the walls. It was 102 degrees today, so we quit about 3 o'clock. We would have gotten it done today if the weather wouldn't have been so unbearable.

A picture today. We were working on the roof this evening, but this shot shows how much has been done with the walls so far too. We are doing this project kinda disjointed I think. We work on what we can when Brother-in-law Ken isn't here, and when he can show up, we sometimes start on something else. That way, when he can't be here, we have something already started to continue with. He is the carpenter in the family and we are following his lead. We have probably done as much of the outside walls as we can until the cement guy gets back and digs out the line to the sewer and frames up the garage. The garage will go on the west side, and we can't backfill around the house until that's done. At least, that's what we are thinking at this point. Once we get the roof boards on, then we will start building the inside walls. At that point, I need to have all my stuff for the time capsule ready to hide in the walls. About 2 weeks we think.

By the way...Brother in law Ken became a new Grandpa 2 days ago! A baby boy!
